Lens shades

When was the lens shade "Barn door" made?Did Canon make one for each lens? Mine seems like it's only good for a 50mm 1:1.9 that I have or a 35mm 1:3.5 that I don't have. It's useless on my 35mm 1:2.8 Some one was selling one on Fee bay for only 50 bucks so this financially embarrassed photographer still shoots without. Is there a (GAD) non-Canon shade that fits?😱

On my Canon 28mm f2.8 I use a 37mm screw in wide angle hood I bought new off of Ebay for $4.98 along with a 34 to 37 mm step up ring. It works quite nicely. I tried to include the link here but it is way too long. Check out Hi-PC's ebay store it is where I got mine.
