Hey Guys,

Been a LONG time since I've posted. Still getting my life together and haven't had much time to shoot sadly.

I'm wondering if any Toronto people know of any places to get light seal kits. Normally I'm fine ordering one from wherever and waiting but my brother in law has a Nikon EM that a gifted to him a couple years ago and it's developed a light leak. He's coming home this weekend and it would be good to get his camera all together so he can get back to shooting when he goes out west.

Any help would be appreciated!

Usually it is back door channel and above mirror.
You could use black wool thread for the door and back of the mouse pad for mirror.
I use pliobond as glue.

It's been a while, but I have used self-adhesive black foam sheets trimmed with a hobby knife. The brand I used was "Foamies", but I suspect that any brand would be about the same and should be available at a local craft store.

The only issue I had was that the foam was a bit thick, and caused the film door to be a little difficult to close. In time, the foam self-molded to a good fit. If you find that you have cut the strip a bit wide for the channel, stretch it longitudinally (to make the width thinner) when you press it in. Then, just trim the long ends with a hobby (X-acto) knife.

Good luck!

Bumping this up for anyone looking for material.

I went to Michaels, the craft store. They had pretty decent sized sheets of adhesive black foam that's very close if not identical to the foam used in light seal kits I've gotten in the past.

One sheet cost me $1.50 and one sheet will be able to service MANY cameras in the future.
