LH-1 Lens hood question

Hi All,

I have a Bessa T & L which I use with a 25mm Snapshot Skopar and LH-1 lens hood. I'm beginning to find that constantly unscrewing the LH-1 when I want to fit the lens cap back on the lens is a real pain in the butt.

However I notice that the LH-1 appears to have a filter thread on it - The leaflet that comes packaged with the hood isn't exactly helpful, as it fails to mention the size of this thread.

I thought I'd stuff a UV filter into the lens hood and leave it permanently attached to the lens with a standard lens cap fitted, thus resolving my minor issue.


Can anyone help me with the thread size?

When I bought my 25 from KOH Camera I bought a used 39mm Leica UV filter with it ($9). I can't stand carrying lenses without protective UV filters.

Since it's a standard 39mm Leica filter you could use a standard squeeze-on Leica-sized lenscap. I don't, because for me the camera's either out and ready or in the bag, where doesn't need the cap. Anyway, I'd inevitably lose the cap or forget to take it off , and I'm also obsessive about using lens hoods. Guess if I wanted a cap I'd make one that fit over the hood...black photo tape etc.
