On way home from Santa Fe where we enjoyed the weather and Leica cameras. Leica USA was represented and had a full bevy of toys for the membership (~130) that attended. Great time had by all and the big event was seeing and listening to Norman Mauskopf the final evening. He still shoots film but is "investigating" digital. Congrats to the folks at LHSA for such a great event.
Personally I shot 10 rolls of Scala and Tmax and ~10 GB of M8 images. Got to try out a 50/1.4 for the day. Awesome !

Thanks for the report. VERY sorry to have missed it but I had no choice (due to scheduling conflicts.)

Fall, 2007 meeting in Rochester, NY. Any feel where the Spring event will be in 2008?

Thanks!

I think that the Springshoot is scheduled for Nashville and the annual meeting (oct) for Louisville. KY. Santa Fe was interesting, but I found out the hard way that 7000ft "up" knocked me for a loop for the first day! There were more M8's hanging around than I have ever seen in one place. Of course, I was only analog! The MP and a 50f1.4 Asph and the 35f2 Asph as well as my R4M with the new 21/4 P lens on it. In retrospect (after having looked at the first 20 rolls of TriX) I should have taken an 4th gen. 35 Summicron and the 50/2 Planar. The combination of bright sunshine and Asph lenses is high contrast too put it mildly!Even pulling film by 20-25 % in the developer is going to have me chasing #1 and 0,5 filters in the darkroom.
Norman's presentation was first class - he is one of my favourite shooters. he also takes his time with any project and the quality shows.

You're right Tom.
I tried to look you up to tell you I love your Leica accessories but couldn't regognize you in the crowd. How could i miss that mug, huh? Ha! I was shooting my M7 (and the M8). I shoot the Ilford XP2 - no contrast problem with that film!
