Light Leak after development but before fixing

I was developing some Tri-X film and after 6 1/2 minutes in the developer, there was an accidental light leak. Although the film was exposed to light, I still went ahead and fixed the film and washed it as I usually do. My darkroom instructor told me that it would be extremely difficult to make prints, but it's possible that the developed film could be scanned so that I could get a usable image out of it.

Has this ever happened to anyone, i.e. they had a light leak AFTER development of the film? If so, were they able to get usable images by scanning the film?

It depends - had the development been stopped before the film was light struck? If so, you may see very little effect. If there was still developer on the negs, you may have a tough time getting anything.
