Hi,
when I am using the spot removal tool in Lightroom 3, the software has a tendancy to freeze. Once I have dragged out the spot removal tool, the program will hang frozen for several seconds or longer, before 'catching up' with itself and continuing work. It doesn't crash, just become inoperable. Does anyone know what could be a likely cause for this? The comp is Win XP SP3.
Regards
Chris

All I can say is that you're not alone, and Adobe has been rather silent on this issue

Yes, unless you totally wait until it completes its present action, it freezes should you move on.

Oh right, that's a bit discomforting. I was hoping it was just a problem with my (ageing) PC. Since I only really use Lightroom for spot removal and tone control, I think maybe a downgrade to an earlier version is in order. I don't remember having any problems with those. I wonder if the lightroom libraries are backwards compatible?

Hi,
check if you have the latest version of LR3. I think it is 3.3. Free to download if you have version 3.
One of the issues addressed: Numerous cloning or healing spots could have caused Lightroom to become unresponsive.
Also, the non Adobe forum http://www.lightroomforums.net is excellent for advice, and trouble shooting.
cheers
