I just received my LOMO LC-A 32mm Art lens in the Leica M mount. I bought it for fun use on my MDa (an M4 w/o vf or rangefinder) as this lens is really meant for film use due to the close nodal point of the lens and the sensor on digital Leicas. It's why most non Leica wideangle lenses don't work too well. Magenta borders and edge smearing.
What it does do is give one crazy super saturated colours and various colour shifts.
I' m looking forward to using it with film but could not resist trying it out on a digital M240. Like putting ketchup on a prime rib...

(fyi it is nicely made out of brass and glass, is rangefinder coupled, comes w a 2 year warranty - but how can u tell if it is broken? - and is the cheapest new M lens available)

Very cool. May I ask where you purchased it from and approx how much does it cost?

lol cool shots, what about creating a cornerfix profile for this lens?

I guess you could but I don't see the point of trying to correct a lens like this, where the point of it are the idiosyncrasies ( I was going to say flaws but that sounds better..)
Want a corrected lens? I'll use something else.
;)

I use something similar with the Olympus 15mm body cap lens on micro-4/3. It has a manual focus lever with a detent for the hyperfocal distance, with a fixed f/8 aperture. I created a correction profile for the lens, that compensates for barrel distortion and CA, making it very practical with good results, especially for outdoor photography.

Cool. The LOMO has apertures variable from 2.8 to 22

This is what the lens looks like on the camera

Nice photos and an interesting lens. The price is certainly a draw, as would seem the rendering fun.

Are these photos from capture on film or with the M typ 240 that you've shown in the photo?

I wonder how the "flaws" of this lens would reveal themself on the Sony a7 series :p Do you have one to try on Huss? I keep coming back to look at these images. It's the sort of thing that gives photography a fun and playful side. I'm going to get on board for the next round of lenses :)

Edit.... Delivers in August. Out of character for me .... I ordered the black one :D

These were taken with the M240. Next up will be on a film body as it will behave differently (should not have that severe magenta edging etc)

Sorry, no Sony for me! But I'm sure it will be a blast. Only bummer is the adapter will make it a wee bit bigger.
This really is a 'let's just play and have fun lens'. And so totally makes it worthwhile.

Wait, you ordered a black one? Dood, those are totally sharp and flawless. Shoulda ordered the silver one for the funky effects!
;)

Dammit!! I knew I screwed that up! :p

I don't have the sony either just a ton of color neg and pos. film. If I like using this, Probably will get a bessa r2 for it to live one. A nice olive one would be cool.

I think I will try it first on one of my Minolta CLEs as that will make for a tiny combo.
