The title really summarises the thread - I do hope I've got the right sub-forum.
Desperately chasing a new Lomo LC-A after my last one got the fatal shutter disease, and a london based camera repair shop further brutalised it.
I am in Moscow for another 5 days, and would love to know where to source one of these guys.
Almost any cost is acceptable.

Hope some Moskwichi will come to thread and tell more. If time flows and no one suggestion comes, I'd go at least to flea markets (ask for baraholkas) - though prices can be screwed up (if it's possible to do it more) but 5 days are 5 days - don't leave purchase to last day.
Oh, I'd take set of batteries with me to roughly test shutter before purchase.
There's still possibility that some RFF member from Moscow having legacy LC-A would trade/exchange for you.

Alternatively, I'd settle for a Cosina CX-2, or anything similar.
At this point in time, I'm looking for anything that would produce similar results for my pending mongolia trip...

Hi. Sorry for my bad english. I think you can try in the izmailovo "vernizadjz", a swap met like place near Hotel Izmailovo. You can go to metro "stantzia" Izmailovo.
They have many old soviet cameras.

Thank you kindly all for the posts and PMs
I managed to located a new LC-A in a camera shop here for 2500RUB - $100 - an incredible deal.
I appreciate the tips - happy shooting.

Yes, Izmilova open air market is the place to look - it's located behind the Izmilova hotel complex. There are a number of tables devoted strictly to Russian and Ukrainian photo equitpment. I've purchased several Zenits, some still in the box, i.e., 12XP, which I feel is an older Zenit but one of their best for $23.00 - with case, in the box. Most any Russian national can direct you how to reach it by metro. If I remember it's about 3 metro stops from neat Red Square. Good luck.

They must be laughing. Until this "Lomography" marketing campaign a few years ago, you couldn't GIVE Lomos away or at most they sold for $10 or so.
