i just noticed that the somewhat larger screw that covers the smaller screw for adjusting the rf allignment, the one on the front of the canon p...is missing on one of my cameras.

would anyone happen to have a spare?

i'm doubting i can run to home hardware to pick one up so i'll need to check with the camera repair folks around the globe. damn!

thanks,
joe

That's a fairly special little screw! I just pulled one out of a Zorki to see if its the same - no. Here's the one for the P.

Maybe a bit of tape over the hole temporarily, just to keep dust out?

Plug ?

Plug ?

>> Maybe try to find a rubber plug?

Would the small black plastic cap for the Canon A & F-series PC flash socket be around the same diameter and make a suitable temporary cover?

(It IS a neat fit in the later rangefinder's flash sync sockets)

chris, i don't think i need to worry about dust as there is just another screw head underneath - i hope not anyway.

airds, the hole is very small, a pc socket seems very big in comparison.

i'll have to email the usual suspects on monday for a replacement.

backalley, I have checked my parts stash, and came up dry. Good luck finding one. Hey, if you ever need a PC socket, I have one!

Canon / Joe / Gandy 35 f2 hood

I finally yeilded to Joe's advice, got a 40mm wide angle hood from Gandy.

Thanks for the advice Joe 🙄 I should have listened.

Looks ideal. I'll see some film today (re vignette?). Gandy's price is right IMO.
Got a Gandy lens cap too..ideal for frisbee or emergency egg frying...this thing's about the size of a manhole cover.
