I'm looking for a plate that will attach to (not substitute for) the bottom of the Leica Handgrip # 14496 (not the high dollar multi-function unit) which is attached to my M (240) so I can use it with quick release devices such as found on my Arca-Swiss tripod head. I've queried what I consider the usual suspects (Kirk, RRS) and so far haven't found what I'm looking for.

Use the RRS grip instead of the Leica grip. It's very nicely made and can be directly tripod/quick release attached. The two parts that I use are the baseplate bm240 plus grip bm9-g.

Thanks. I looked at those on the RRS website and they look nice. Given that I already have the Leica handgrip someone else suggested I get the RRS MC-L Multi-Camera L Plate. I don't need a tripod/quick release attachment often, but when I do, of course, I do.
