Hi ..I hope it's okay to ask this here..I've been looking for a nice Mamiya 6 for AGES! Just finished my morning trawl of the internet again..
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions of good places to look for the camera in the UK..
Many Thanks

I take it you mean the removable lens, Mamiya 6, and not the folding camera, the Mamiya SIX?
Are you nervous about eBay, because there are a couple of good options for reasonable money on there? Mamiya 6s hold their money well for good reason. To be honest with eBay's new increased buyer protection I'm less worried about buying from eBay than I used to be.

I'm only worried about the mileage of the winders really, the ones on Ebay look a little worn..Many Thanks.

Simon, Thanks very very much!..I spoke to a man at the Chiswick camera centre who was very helpful. The viewfinder has a crack in it which doesn't alter the view and apart from that the camera, MF version and the three lens set are now mine! Cost was £1,449, just about right...maybe, but very pleased to have the 50mm as well.
So very chuffed, great forum! Thankyou again Simon you're a hero ;o)

Hi Lucy
Fantastic! You moved fast...
I had a look at the camera maybe two weeks ago and it seemed in good honest shape. I was actually looking at the Hasselblad 50mm that they have but could not resist a peek at the Mamiya. I was very tempted but managed to stick to the plan and just think about the Hasselblad! Anyway, glad it worked out and happy shooting!

Very goood!!!
Very goood!!!
I'd be inclined to say you got an excellent deal. All that for the price.
I consider Mamiya 6 and Mamiya 7 to be the most overpriced camera in the medium format rangefinder market. That's only not a slam, since you did quite well, particularly considering getting the 50mm.
I've been shooting Mamiya RF since the folder, the 645's all of them, and the RB67.
But I have never had a 6 or 7 contemporary, because I simply won't pay the going price for them.
Enjoy the camera. I am sure they are still using all that superb Mamiya Sekor glass. In fact the Mamiya SIX folder I am just selling on eBay was the first use of Mamiya Sekor glass on any Mamiya I have seen. That 75mm lens is great. Also first Seikosha shutter, that I know of. Made in 1955/56.
You should do well if you decide to part with it.

Kuzano, Thanks for your message. I think the price was quite good, apart from being completely over priced of course, haha..I agree with you.
