I need a lens cap for my Canon 50mm f/.95 monster. Any third party caps available for this thing? I posted this in the Canon forum instead of the "Wanted" list because I didn't think anyone would have one of these laying about unused.
Also, who is the Canon 7 repair person/persons wizard recommended by this list? I am going to send off the Canon 7 and lens to have both CLA'd. Joe, any suggestions? Anyone?
The camera is in wonderful shape (thanks again Kim!) and this CLA would just be preventative in nature.
The lens is in very nice shape, but is stiff. Just like the old Russian lenses stiffen up, but not quite so bad. I have the tools and no fear when opening up the FSU stuff but I don't want to go tearing into the f/.95 unless I am forced to.
Which reminds me... anyone know a good site for dealing with this lens?
Thanks in advance for anyone able to help out.

What size lens cap are you looking for?
A standard 72mm cap should work.
Essex did a great job on my Canon 7. It was door-to-door in two weeks. They also did my Canon VI-t and V-t.

Brian, do you have a link? I tried Googling "Essex" and got about 37 trillion non-applicable links.
Is this the right "Essex"? http://www.essexcamera.com/

Tom, you NEED that lens cap! (Of course, then you'd still have to get a cheap plastic one since you'd be afraid to actually lose the Canon one.)

I put that on my watch list and will see how it goes. I cannot imagine a huge demand for these things so may let the auction play out and contact the seller.
I have some (3) cheapo plastic ones on the way at present.

I like the metal caps on the smaller lenses but the bigger ones are definitely prone to get lost when used in the field. As long as I have no proper shade for my 0.95 I don't look for a historically correct cap. I've seen them going for higher prices than 25 USD. cheers, Frank
