I am looking for a Pro Lab or service in the Tokyo area that can duplicate some Neopan 400 (B&W) film. I need to send some negatives overseas and don't want to send the originals. The film is already developed and is cut into strips of six.
Anyone know or have experience here in Tokyo?
Thanks,
Casey

Horiuchi Color, one of the bigger pro labs, comes to my mind. Haven't used them in Tokyo, but their branch in Osaka, with good results. They will do color duplication but not sure about b&w, you will have to inquire.

Thanks joeswe... I saw that their price list included color dupe but not B&W, so as you suggested I will contact them...
I appreciate the suggestion...

Might be a long shot to dupe B&W 35mm negatives
Thank you,

An online search turned up
Art Lab (Âto Rabo) here
specialized in traditional b&w and apparently around for some time
their price list shows "b&w duplicates" (複写) in 35mm and 6x7
good luck

I have sent off an email to 白黒写真現像所 株式会社 and will let you know the results...
Thanks again joeswe...

Got a reply to my email from Art Lab...
Yes it was on their price list, but it seems that they don't provide 35mm B&W negative dupe any longer... due to discontinuation of film supplies for that process. Here is their reply in Japanese.
複写は写真からネガを作成することでフィルムからのネガ作成は感材終了のため取り扱っておりません。
Since they were a B&W specialty lab, I would guess it's the end of the line...
Time to look for another solution ;-)
