Loose focus ring on Elmar 9cm collapsible

I the recent owner of a nice Leitz Elmar collapsible. The lens glass is quite nice, but the focus ring is really loose. Since the mechanical part of the collapsible Elmar seems rather complex, I hesitate to unscew the back of the lens.
Any experience to share ?
