I took a trip to a destination place I have been wanting to see for a long time. Once I got there, I didn’t want to leave.

The set starts out with a couple of old churches along Route 61, and finishes with views from Virginia’s highest valley, known as Burke’s Garden.

I had to take three photos to make this one so I could get the view right.

Clear Creek runs along the base of the mountain forming a very long valley running southwest to northeast, typical of the Appalachia region.

On Garden Creek at Goose Mill, this boulder is about the size of a one story Cape Cod.

I can only imagine what the place looked like before the settlers came.

Burke's Garden--been there, done that. Beautiful and unique. If you get a chance, go there. By the way, lovely pictures.
