I'll be in Cypress, CA for business for the first week of June. As near as I can tell, Cypress is a business park.
I'd like to stay somewhere reasonably close that offers something in the way of character. By character, I mean something to do and see in walking distance. Places to eat, coffee shops, people walking on the streets...something to point a camera at.
Any suggestions?
Here's a link to Cypress on google maps.

Cypress is Orange County - adjacent to Los Angles but a whole mind-set away! Your expectations are fairly accurate. I suggest you find a way to get to Wesminster for some of the best Vietnamese food you've eaten this side of Saigon. That area is the largest population of Vietnamese people outside of Viet Nam. For photography, you might check out Long Beach - there are several areas that are interesting. http://www.visitlongbeach.com/index.cfm?action=cover&contentID=2&navID=30

Thanks Gumby,
I was considering staying in Long Beach, but I'm not sure how bad the traffic will be.
