Lost your M9 and two lenses?

I guess the guy (persumably) was in a different state of mind leaving the plane and not taking his M9 with him. I'm sure he'll notify the airline....

wow i hope they find hte guy. so lucky to have lost it with this airline, with these honorable employees.

Glad to see that there are still some good people out there. Hopefully they're able to find the owner soon.

That's very nice of those people, good to see there's still good honest people out in the world.............hope they can trace the owner.

Which reminds me a a time I left my M6/Summicron combo in a bar in Amsterdam back in 1985, I walked like 5 blocks until I noticed something was missing (I'm sure it was b/c of those damm shots of Dutch Gin!) ;) Well I ran back 5 blocks to the bar and there was a very honest barkeeper...........

Very cool to see this person go the extra mile to reconnect camera with owner!

From what I gather though, it's been a month since the camera was found... First off, who loses an M9 and two lenses... Secondly, who doesn't report that they're lost?! Wow.

That is what I thought also. I don't know which part I find more incredible.

Well, airlines do have passenger manifests. Was the camera found on a seat or in an overhead bin? If that info was available, it doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to find the owner. Perhaps airlines legal department has suggestions.

I couldn't imagine leaving my my bag with the M9 and Leica lenses on board unless I was carried off the plane unconscious. Maybe the owner reported it to his insurance company when he got home, and already got it replaced with a new one.

That is the only explanation that I could think of that would fit with not looking for a lost M9 and two lenses. It is just too absurd any other way and would sort of fall into ,is this a joke, territory otherwise.

I'd like to know which airline this is? It's above and beyond the call of duty and a very pleasant surprise.

Probably a drug dealer's camera? Or some superrich dude who is too good to look at these forums....

yea im going with Ben z and the insurance theory.

I think if the person who lost the camera frequented RF forums, there would have been a thread to the effect of:

"OMG I AM A F#&$^ng IDIOT, I JUST LEFT MY M9 and LENSES On the PLANE :( FML!!"

one month later, i doubt he/she is lurking the forums.

Maybe it was someone who decided to return to film, with a vengeance.

You'd be amazed at the crap people leave behind on planes. Airline L&F departments are bulging with laptops and high-end smartphones.

That's amazing, and a real credit to the airline workers who are looking for the owner.

My camera bag always has my business cards in it, which could be used if something like that ever happened, heaven forbid. And I make a point of recording my serial numbers and registering my camera right after purchase.

Me! Me! Meeeeeeeeeee!

...oh, wait. That was in my dreams. Hope the real owner's reunited with the camera soon.

If the gear was stolen from a traveler in some city, and the thief accidentally left it on a plane, I might understand his hesitation to contact the airline... :)

Beats the time I checked a bag with an SB600 flash in it which somehow disappeared by the time I picked up the bag. Cheap way to learn a lesson I suppose, grand scheme.
