Does having a relatively low serial number (3 digit) confer additional value to the camera?

Not on a camera that is of recent manufacture. I would actually prefer a higher SN on that camera.

Also, some of the early R3As had rangefinders that went out of alignment very easily. I had one of those and ultimately sold it. Never had the same problem with my R2A.

I picked up my R3A used from Camera Quest. It had been completely overhauled. It was originally awarded as a prize for a photography competition in NYC in 2004.
