I was looking for a rangefinder with higher mag finder than my Oly RD. I thought about a Canon P but in the end I bought a Bessa R3A from a forum member. I also bought a M-Rokkor 40mm and an 50mm Industar 61LD LTM mount. I am really looking forward to getting them.

Is there any advice on an LTM to M adapter for the Russian lens? What should I look for?

I think you'll be good with anything - your R3a has manual frame selection.

I use a 35/?? CV adapter with my I61 and R2a.

I just bought the 50mm/75mm CV one from CameraQuest to use with my R2A. But like Kully said, any one will do with a Bessa since the frames are user selectable. With an M-series Leica, you'd have to match the adapter to the lens focal length so the camera would select the right frame.

I had read some stuff about the threads not fitting correctly on some of the Russian lenses with less expensive adapters. Has anyone had any problems like this? I want to get the least expensive adapter. Usually I buy better stuff but I can't see spending alot of money to attach an inexpensive lens to my R3A. Am I wrong here?

Get a CV one from Cameraquest. It won't be the cheapest, but it will be certain to work and you can use it for any LTM 50 you get later on.

Despite that any of the 28/90, 35/135, 50/75 will work on the Bessa because of the manual frame line selection, I would still advise getting the correct one for your focal length.

At some point in the future, you may want to use it on an RF with auto selection, and then having the wrong one is a major pain. There are already three auto selecting camera lines, Leica/Hexar/Zeiss. But it's not impossible that one day a followup of the Bessa/Epson will have the same provision.
