Leica LTM LTM to M adapter question

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Thanks, Kim. That's what the seller thought, but he wasn't sure.

BTW, I probably should have come here first to find out more about these adpaters, because there is one other thing I'm curious about. I see aftermarket ones selling for much lower, but have heard that they aren't consistent in their quality (thickness not accurate?). Do you have any views on that?

I have used both the Leica and CV ones with no problems. I generally would get the CV ones now due to cost. I have heard the Marumi ones are also OK but I haven't tried one. The imports from China and elsewhere may be OK but quite a few people have had problems with them. As the CV ones are only $55 new from CQ, I don't see the need to risk it.

It looks OK to me. The markings did change with time. This one would have been on the market before the M4 came out. M3 is marked 28-50 because with a 28 it would leave the 50 frames up with the M3 leaving the least cluttered finder. ;)

Just curious, that isn't original, is it? The markings on it are throwing me off.

Mark I have tried the Leitz, CV and Marumi adapters and none have given me trouble. The Marumi ones used to be available from Canada much cheaper than the others but that source seems to have dried up. The Marumis are beautifully made.

The trouble with any of the third-party adapters is that you don't know who really made them. Over a period of several months a while back I bought three adapters from B&H -- all of them had the same brand name, came in the same type of box, and had the same type of "skate key" installer included, but it was obvious from the style of machining and finish that one had come from a different factory than the other two. The "odd" one also turned out to be much thicker than the other two, enough to throw off focusing.

I'm late...

...but yes that's the same adapter I bought on ebay for $50. I use it for my 50mm Nikkor and 75mm C/V lenses. It brings up the 50/75 framelines.

The seller had a typo in the description but corrected his mistake in the Q&A section.

I need a 90mm adapter. "Bueller? Bueller? Anybody?"

Thanks, everyone. I was considering a CV awhile back, but when I saw this one available, I thought why not? And it came to less than $3 over the CV version. If I'm correct, I think I've seen these originals sell for close to $200 on the bay.

Yes, it apparently is original, but it was the pre-M4 dating that I was concerned with. I had not seen one of this era until now.

I have 2 35mm/135mm & the 28mm/50mm and they all look like the one in question here. I paid $30, $50 & $750 for the trio. GRINNING! The one that cost $750 had a lens and B+W filter attached to it.

You can get Japanese made adapters from www.fedka.com, at a price just a bit lower than that of the CV ones. This seller is known for his dependability. I'm waiting for two to arrive.
