Recently i found one Russian page stating that one can use Kiev 60 focusing screen with Lubitel.
I bought on eBay a screen (this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350267920715&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT), and started to look how to put it in.
But the problem with the screen is that i cannot focus with it.
I tried to adjust the focusing lens, but the maximum i get is about half way to focus
Have anyone ever succeeded changing the focusing screen on Lubitel?

Thanks
Igal

The upper part of the Lubitel is actually a glorified and enlarged 'brilliant' finder- similar to the reflecting finders of the box and folding hand cameras. The viewing screen in a Lubitel is really a lens with a ground spot. Simply substituting this lens with a flat ground glass screen may not work. You may have to increase the height of the screen, instead of just laying it where the original screen lens was.

Also, note that the lenses on the Lubitel are not exact twins. So using a groundglass screen with the 60mm (?) focal length viewing lens may not show the exact focus of the longer 75mm taking lens. The original arrangement, having a ground spot on the screen lens, does not always show the true focus of the taking lens.

ZorkiKat,
Thanks for the answer
The lenses indeed are not twit, the upper (focusing) is 60/1.8 and the lower (taking) is 75/4.5
From what you wrote i understand there's too much challenge in trying to get this screen to work 🙁
