The instruction manual calls for sewing machine oil in the little openings marked in red. I have 3-In-One Motor (SAE 20). Can I use that? Or should I get the regular 3-In-One?
While I don't see what would be the harm with what you have, it may be best if you first look at the "Three in One" site and see if they explain the difference before you take a decision.
I've always thought of sewing machine oil as a light electric motor oil so to my thinking they are the same. Perhaps the different lines are a marketing scheme to boost sells.
I doubt that electro motor oil is SAE categorized anywhere in the world - so the proposed SAE20 oil most likely is car oil. Which would be a pretty safe way to clog the Focomat to the point that it will need total disassembly five years down the line.
3-IN-ONE Motor Oil created a special blend of high-grade oils that’s equivalent to SAE 20. Its formulation is ideal for lubricating the moving parts of electrical motors.
I read this before I posted as I was curious as well.
