Hi -
I'm thinking about ordering a Luigi 1/2 case.
I was going to get one with the built in grip, but I tried out the Leica screw-on grip and did not like how it handled. I preferred the feel of a different makers flat 1/2 case instead.
So - how similar / different is Luigi's "built-in grip" to the Leica screw-on grip? Anyone out there tried both?
Thanks.
Matt.

I have the one from Luigi with the bump instead of the big grip. I find that works well for me, and have fairly large hands. I didi not like the big grip version. But that was my choice.

Great product. I got it with the full neck strap, but now use it with a wrist strap. The built-in grip is great. Recently, I have also begun using a thumbs up with it. (I have not used the Leica grip.)

I got one without the grip, nor did I get the Leica grip, but got a thumbs up instead. I find that perfect to hold. The grips make the camera too bulky for my taste, and take away from its aesthetics.

It's a question of personal taste. Just like swanny and woodleica I didn't feel confortable with the big grip, but I love the half case with the bump - really nice to hold

Thanks - this is helpful. I don't have big hands, but when I used the Leica grip (the one that replaces the bottom cover) I felt I was forced to pinch the camera with my fingertips, rather than grasp the body with my whole hand. The pinching made me thing I'd find it tiring to hold.
Mainly wanted to see if folks felt this way about the Luigi grip as well. So far looks like 50/50, and I guess that is why the man gives you choices!
I'll think get the wrist strap too, that seems to make a nice combo.
If other's have comments / opinions, I'm still all ears. It will take me a bit to land on a color (black or olive, probably with red stitching. . . ).

I have the half case with bump and Thumbs Up. Works perfect for me. Also looks pretty good. The Thumbs up is old and brassing so it makes the camera look old and worn even though it is spotless.

If you get the Luigi half case, make sure to order with the cutout for the thumbs up. He charges extra, but worth it. I got one of Gordies wrist straps, great value and quality.

I have a black 1/2 case with red stitching, cut-out for the thumbs-up and the hanging back door. Honestly, I do not like it because it makes the M9 big/fat for my taste and ergonomics (I don't have large hands). The workmanship and quality of any Luigi case is top of the class though.
I wish there was something similar as the LEICA M HANDGRIP #14405 but for the M8/M9. The M8/9 grip I don't like either.
Anyway, I am even thinking to sell my Luigi half case, it is still like new. If you are interested drop me a line.
Thanks
