I just received my Rolleiflex Strap back from Luigi Crescenzi of Leicatime. It's beautiful and puts the final touch on my Rolleiflex 3.5E .

Here's how it works: I purchased a beat up strap with the proper alligator (scissors) type clips on ebay for $26. It had brown worn faded leather. I simple snipped the strap near the clips and sent those to Luigi via registered mail. He then pops the rivets out the clips and then installs his black adjustable strap.

It took about 4 weeks total. All the time is consumed in the mailing back and forth via registered mail in order to keep the final price low. I love the soft red trim under the neck strap and the leather cover for the metal adjustment belt.

Here is a link to the photo on Luigi's site, mine looks exactly the same:

Anyway for less than $90, which isactually less than what original excellent-mint Rolleiflex straps go for, I got something way better. Thanks Luigi!

Wow ... what a beautiful looking strap for a Rollei. The strap on my T is in danger of getting the same treatment! :)

I so agree with you, I need one also.... and I have a pair of the clips at hand.

Now all I need are the funds :(

Well, one of these days, my 2.8F will get a nice surprise!

Damn.... if I buy one of those straps, I need to buy a Rollei that isn't a beater, or it'll embarass the strap...

....personifying cameras leads to bad gas!

Jeez, and I just sent my 2.8E off to Ross Yerkes in L.A. for installation of a Maxwell screen and a CLA. So obviously I'm broke.

As a bit of nice news. I got the camera from my best friend's widow, who thought I should have it. It looked new. Ross said it was one of the finest he'd seen in years and it had never been opened. He said the speeds were a bit slow and the rewind was a bit stiff, meaning the lubricants had dried out, so I popped for the CLA.
