Hi All;
I just picked up a Lunasix Three light meter, with working mercury batteries, a spotmeter attachment and the cases for both for 50 bucks Cdn. I am wondering if I paid too much, and also if anyone here has experience with the meter, and their opinions of it. Also, for persons using it, what are you doing for batteries as the mercury cells are now obsolete?
Thanks,
Kevin

Fair price. $25 would be great, $75 would be high.
I have one and converted it to silver cells by opening it up and soldering 2 diodes into the battery wire. Works great.

I can't comment on whether you got value for money because I inherited my Lunasix 3 and tele adaptor from my late father, but after watching a few auctions in the past it seems that the tele/spot attachment sells for more than the meter itself these days. Gossen do (did?) an adaptor for the battery compartment that sleeves and steps down the voltage on currently available 1.5v batteries (I cannot remember exactly which type at the moment). It was quite pricey, £20 here in the UK.
I find the meter good to use, particularly the fact that the reading 'locks'.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks for the replies guys, I am looking forward to using this meter with my FSU cameras and not always having to rely on the sunny 16 rule.
