Hi to everybody , I've just bought a summilux 50 num 17.......so first version , a lot of people says optically inferior to the other version.
Can you explain me by photos this difference ? and can you give to me your idea ?
For an example if the difference it will be less sharpness in the corner for me it is not a big problem I don't buy the lux for the sharpness in that case I will use a cron.....

Lux ver1 soft at f1.4, quite soft at f2. Excellent from f2.8. Images are smooth, 3d look. newer versions are more colorful, more sharp.

The v.1 is a terrific lens. It's absolutely not "optically inferior" as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and sharpness isn't everything as you'll find out when you use it. For photos I'd go to flickr and search on 50 Summilux v.1
