Hi folks. I posted elsewhere about getting a camera which uses the LVS system which I'm finding quite enjoyable. I am looking for a shoe mounted meter (I know it's not the best way to meter etc but it'll give me a starting point in learning EV). In the past I've had the Voigtlander Meter II and some older meters like a Metraphot 3 and some Leica meters too which I have always enjoyed. But this time I'm looking for one which deals in EV as either a headline act or a solo routine.

There are a few options available on Amazon/AliExpress etc which have a screen giving shutter/aperture as usual, sometimes with EV as a small bit on the screen. Sone of the older maters have an LVS in additional to the wheel for following the pointer needle. I consider those to be slightly redundant when I can take the LVS and do the calculations and see the available options on the lens itself, so what should I do?

The instructions/adverts aren't always clear with the digital shoe mounted ones, so maybe EV can be displayed front and centre?

Here are some of the ones I've been considering - something that combines the small size, shoe mount and metal build of the modern ones with the readout of the vintage one would be perfect!!

I have one for sale in the classifieds
Thanks - unfortunately (for many reasons!) I'm in the UK though. Interesting that the image you have uploaded shows the screen displaying EV only - is that an option, it doesn't seem to be with the others. Looking at pictures it seems as though that particular meter sits slightly rearward i.e not flush with the back of the camera?

Don't forget the Kodalux L meter, the later small one, might be ancient but mine still seems accurate enough. It has EVs.
Thanks, I have a Metraphot 3 which is great and very accurate - a similar design. I wonder if there's a simpler meter without the shutter/apeture calculator though

Keks have several meters which will display EV if you turn that feature on.

I have the KM02 and it is a nice meter. It lets you set the aperture steps and shutter speeds to match your camera so that it doesn't give combos you can't shoot.

I have the Reflx Lab meter (shown in the image on the upper right). I would avoid it since it's got some quirks that are annoying. First, it only displays the ISO when it first turns on, or unless you press some buttons (I forgot which ones). And on mine the right button is sometimes unresponsive in ways that make it seems like it's the software not the button itself.

There are so many other meters out there anyway.
