Lynx 1000 distance adjustment

I have been trying to fix the range finding of my Lynx 1000, obtaining accurate results from 1 meter up to 5.

At infinity in the coincidence of yellow patch, the scale shows me some in-between the 10 meters and infinity symbol, both symbols being pretty pretty close.

I have identified the vertical adjustment screw, the lateral one, but there is a third screw, close to the vertical adjustment, producing a kind of eliptical movement (this is a very rough description) that I don't understand what it is for.

Could you help both in explaining me what this screw is for and why I have failed to adjust accurately from 1 meter to infinity ?

Thanks in advance,
Ruben

BTW, Lee ND3 for Lynx 1000 = wonderfull !

You only set the RF for infinity. There is no way to have it adjusted separately for 1m and infinity. ....

Ok, but then the distance scale will show some 1.2meters for actual 1 meter.
Therefore ?

Ruben

You do not set the RF according to the distance scale on the lens. You verify infinity at the film plane, set the RF and you are done.
If you want the distance scale to match the RF unit, then you are in for a fun week or so.

With all due respect, and respect is due indeed, if I understand your proceeding, I will be "done" with a useless distance scale. Therefore I conclude I am missing something about your explanation.

Sorry,
Cheers,

Ok, Let me summarize:

a) Rotate the lens barrel until I have sharp infinity at film plane.

b) Adjust yellow patch coincidence for that point (infinity)

c) Adjust distance scale ring to match lens infinity sharpness and patch coincidence with infinity symbol

d) If everyting went ok, distance scale will show 0.8m at actual 0.8m.

Have I got it this time ?

:bang:
