M Lenses and Crooked Hoods

The rectangular hood on my Summicron 35mm is off every so slightly. It's not the hood, of course but the lens. Sherry said she'd have to take the whole lens front off and reglue it and suggested I leave it alone. It's BARELY crooked, but I noticed it and mentioned it to her when the lens was in for CLA. I followed her advice.

Of course the lens performs perfectly.

Yeah, the same with my Summicron 35/f2 ASPH. It's not really noticable unless you're actually looking for it.
 
I've noticed a slight misalignment with my 35mm version IV Summicron. There have been complaints about the Summicron ASPH as well. I think it all started when they started glueing the lenses together. And of course when they started using rectangular hoods! Hardly such a thing as a crooked round hood!
