M summaron with goggles removed?

someone was asking about using the summaron with the googles removed on one of the threads. looks like someone on that auction site has removed the goggles and made it still work with other cameras. at $135 and minutes to go...

Take this with a huge grain of salt.

One can use this lens and SCALE FOCUS it. The camera's RF cannot be used to achieve focus.

yup, the rangefinder will be out since the focus cam is permanently adjusted to fit the googles. Believe me, I tried 🙂

Put the wrong battery in a light meter and it may still "work," but not correctly.

ahh... i seem to always pick these things - be it misleading technical issues or inflated prices! thankfully there's the collective wisdom of you guys here to clarify things.
