The slow production and big demand for M10's
has resulted in crazy M10 prices in the short run.

Some ebay M10 dealers are asking for only $8998

Yes indeed, be the first hedge fund manager on your island to have a M10!

I am young enough to remember when the first Miata came out, some dealers were selling it at double sticker.
The M10 at a $2K mark up is a steal...

For those thinking of buying the M240 are there good places to look (beyond the classifieds at RFF, of course!!) And, for that matter, places to avoid. Is the 'bay an uncertain place to be avoided????

I seem to remember that Fuji's X100 was selling for stupid prices at the start due to shortages. At least I think it was the X100?

As people have said if you are happy with what the 240 offers it's a very good time to buy new or used and in hind sight I think the 240 is one of the least complained about cameras that Leica have released in the digital era. Having owned mine for two or three years now I can understand why.

Fleabay is almost a lost cause. How many are buying at that price?

Whoever preordered from a dealer did so at a prearranged price.

It may be incredible to some, economics and/or lust and greed to others. It may be unaffordable to many. But Stephen, why do you think it is crazy?

OTOH, US $8,998 is 28, 400 5"x7" at the local lab. including a scan to CD for the catalogue and the film, locally...

Regards, David

I paid $9700 for the neat mobile home I purchased in St Pete, Florida. It has central air and heat, a Florida room, and came completely furnished w/ towels, pots and pans, dinnerware, TV, all that. Now I find out that I could have spent only $9500 for a Leica digital camera (w/ taxes, no lens) and slept in the park. Hmmm, maybe I made the wrong decision? I'll get back to you on that one.
