m2 problem

hi again everybody, i have just acquired an m2 body w/c is in relatively good condition,however upon close scrutiny, i found out that the crank wont move and the shutter curtain is stuck open, any idea what i can do, do you guys tinker with your cameras, where can i have it serviced, I live in the philippines and there is no dealer nor distributor for leicas.

Mr Ye in Boston is a favorite for m2, m3 repairs and charges less than some of the others, there are some recent threads about him on rff. Email him, he might have some hint to give that could get it going. Also on that linked page is the service manuals.

I would recomend Don at DAG (www.dagcamera.com) very highly. He is a straight shooter (very honest) and a great guy. I have had very good experience with him.

While I have not used her, Sherry Krauter at Golden Touch Quality Camera Repair comes highly recomended from many people.
