Hi All RF enthusiast
I'm new to this forum, even though i read as silent reader and owning few M and SM Leica camera. To make the story short,
I'm having a problem with my M2 having a light leaks in my recent rolls. The symphtom been found about a year ago when i found my curtain not thight and floppy a little bit. However the light lekas doesnt occur in all frame just few frame and then all the rest are good. Sometime 36 frame doesnt have any problem at all. I'm having an itchy finger on repair something such as old bikes..etc. and try to resolve this issue.Until the problem get worse, the shutter speed are upset:bang: , the B shutter turn not as B shutter and act as slow speed.turn the 2 retaining screw and the problem all shutter speed turn to bulb.
. Current status the shutter wont work and the curtain need to reset . I have to option to this :
1. Fix with some help here and try to adjust by my self ( i have all the tools and screw drivers from my bike project ) as i'm pretty handy.I done several CLa on my III and IIIF by myself based on this forum and Richard TunnelBlog, but i believe the M have different from the SM and have more difficult system
2. Sent it to Kanto for servicing and repaint ( if i choose this , how much Kanto charge for repaint ?) . I know Don DAG as i been buying stuff from him. But from what i heard the Turn around time pretty scary. Which i need the camera for work purpose.
I havent open the top and , i believe what i have to do is to retighten the 2 crew on the bottom and set the shutter speed from that point. Comment and input are welcome as i plan to fix this next week when i get to my home Country ( I live in Bangkok )
