M3 Kit Good Price?

I was wondering if this was a good or reasonable price for an M3 and lens that I was offered recently. I was offered an M3 DS in excellent++ condition with a 50mm Summarit f1.5 with hood. Both had a CLA last year. Included was a working Leica meter. The total price is $1600. Any opinions?

Sounds about right if the meter really is good and assuming no faults with the lens or camera (especially VF separation).

I would say no.
I sold an M3 SS with a 50 Summarit for $800 last year.

Sounds high to me. DS's tend to bring less than singles but it really is all about condition.

It does sound right if the lens is clean, there is no VF separation, and meter works (clean Summarits are very rare and fetch a premium in the M9 age). The original Summarit hood by itself can be sold for a couple of hundred bucks.

Who did the CLA? cosmetic condition of the M3? any dings? finder bright? vulcanite chips? what about summarit? cleaning marks? haze etc? these are factors which will affect price.

What speed range on the DS. i e. 50/100/200 or 60/125/250? The latter modern speed range is higher $$$

I think $1,600 is too high. $1,200 - $1,300 is fairer.

Leica did the cleaning on the lens and camera. No dings or scratches. Just small piece of vulcanite missing on rear door. 60/125/25. Everything is working as it should. I was thnking that $1600 was a bit high.
