I have a 75mm new lens that I need to fit with a 39mm to Leica M mount adapter. I found a new adapter that sells for $22 from an after market company
( not Voiftlander). I know that the Bessa r3a has manual viewfinder indexing so automatic indexing should not be a problem. My question is will the lens be index propperly on the camera and will it work with the rangefinfer. (I suspect this may be the same adapter Voiglander sells under their name.)

Although the framelines are set manually, it doesn't hurt to plan the choice of adapter carefully. At some point in the future, you may come to own a camera which does have automatic frameline selection. And then having the wrong framelines come up is a pain.

There are two issues here; One is the frameline indexing which is manual on the R3a but I agree it doesn't hurt to use the matching adaptor anyway. Second issue is focusing accuracy and the precision of the inexpensive adaptor. I'd feel more comfortable with an adaptor highly-recommended for accuracy of thickness to assure accurate focusing at the near and far limits. I'm willing to pay a modest premium for that assurance, but it's a personal preference of course.
