i love my M6, and i do use the in camera metering.

can someone explain if this early lens will work on M6 and its metering?

thank you

It will not meter properly.

Secondly it is a lens that vignettes very badly. I had mine 3 months before the pre ASPH 2.8 came out. I traded straight away and still have the the pre.

Also have 4 16x20 framed on my wall shot at 11 or 16 where it performed well.

That and the 24 2.8 R were lenses I was was unhappy about.

interesting; so there is no way to use this with M6 metering?

thank you

You put a different lens on, meter, then swap lenses 🙂. Or get an external meter. The rear element shades the diode, in fact it comes so close to the film that there is hardly and gap between the negs.

No problem with a handheld meter. The camera will still work with the lens in place. You only have a problem if you want the camera to meter for you.
