Has anyone else had their M6 in recently for repair of the brightline display? Mine was stuck. Mine's .72 mag.
What was your turn around time and cost?
I sent mine via local dealer from whom I bought it several years ago.
This is the only repair it's ever needed. I do understand that the camera will undergo a comprehensive check & cleaning.
Hoewever, it's been back East (NJ) already for 7 weeks. Phew!
The M7 gets picked up more frequently now. But my fave is still the 6

You mean your framelines are stuck on one setting?
I just had mine repaired by DAG. The frameline itself was $85, but Don recommended a 3/4 CLA, which was $185 - and that included fixing the framlines. The turn around was approx 2 weeks. Camera arrived extremely well packed and he put in a free battery as well.
How much did you pay for your repair?

Yes the framelines were stuck on 35 / 50mm setting. My cost approaches $400.00. I thought that was pricey. CLA = Clean Lube Adjust? I believe there's a markup from my local store. Dang it. I've used DAG previously (and happily) who had worked on my Fuji TX-1 (when no one else would touch it) I simply forgot to pick up the phone and to ask him about this M6 issue. Would have done better to do so, than the approach I have taken.

$400 maybe you're getting a full CLA? Still pricey for a full CLA though...

You're on Candid Camera
I don't know if you've considered it, but for a few bucks more than you're already about to spend, you could upgrade to an MP-type viewfinder. I upgraded my M6 at the same time as a CLA and the total cost was about $450.
What a difference though! Very bright with no flare and no 'blackout' problem. It's almost like getting a new M6.

GMan: Well I'll be a blue nosed gopher! I had no idea that I could change VF to an MP type. I might well have considered doing that. Alas, the work is underway already to restore the M6 to tip top shape.
