I've had an M8.2 with Summilux F/1.4 35mm and 50mm ASPH lenses and a 75mm F/2.0 Summicron lens for two months now.

When I bought this camera and lenses, being an ardent Canon DLSR user, I was a bit skeptical, feeling as I am nigh on 50 years old, that I was in a bit of a mid-life crisis, buying a Porsche Boxter when all I needed was a Volvo wagon. I really thought I'd only use it for the odd & sod portrait or street photograph.

I have been astonished with this camera. The accuracy of the color, image chromacity, the ease of use for other than sports photography and the sense of control I have over the entire image capture process have ben nothing short of absolute joy. No more dealing with nested menus or hours in Photoshop. Now I capture the image and it generally looks what my eye sees.

This camera turned out to be far more than I expected and I could not be happier wit it.

Congratulations and nice to read this sort of feedback on the 8.2 but I have to ask what camera would you align with the Volvo Wagon ... dare I ask! :p

It's not THAT expensive:D

There are things I have to do for a living that wouldn't be practical with an m8. Things like interiors, product/commercial and advertising work. No doubt an m8 could be used, but it isn't particularly convenient.

Rest assured that when I win the lottery and never have to work boring photography jobs again, my kit will be an m8 and an mp.

I have Canon 1dsmk2 and 1dmk2 bodies and a closet full of lenses and only use them for high speed bird and wildlife photography and when I need to get close to wildlife with the 600mm.

EVERYTHING else is shot with the M8 now.
