Are there any disadvantages to purchasing an M8.2 at this time, Considering the M9 announcement? I'm was so thinking about taking the plunge- and risking divorce.

I would hold off until at least the 9th. We might be surprised at the price-point. If it is close to the current M8.2, then you will be able to pick one up for a steep discount.

I'm very encouraged to here this. Thanks for the reply's. I will try to make the press conference in Columbus Circle on the 9th. 9am I should be at my desk working . I'm in the area so I'll really make the attempt.

If Leica takes Apple strategy than M9 should be better and cheaper! This approach is shown to be very successful... However NEWer doesn't always mean "The Best" my old MacBook is still better(keyboard and screen) than a new ones... So, why would not keep an M8 cauz people payed a lot already and when it gets really old (say to the point where M12 comes), sell M8 and get an M13
