Either the camera is already taken or something is wrong with it. I'd at least phone the guy and ask if one can have a look at it.

A good way to waste 1500$, but not to aquire a camera, unless you are one of the really lucky ones.But then you would already have won the lottery, and would buy a new one.

I did hear a story about a woman who had to sell a car and was to split the proceeds with her soon to be ex husband. Someone got a nice Volvo for about $100. Maybe this is a similar situation?

If it's for real the seller has some serious convincing to do. I would stay very far away from this.

that's not the serial number it's the Leica product? number. If that's what it's called. My M8 box shows 10702
