My apologies if this has been asked a thousend times but I can't find the answer. Not even my local Leica dealer was able to answer me this basic question 
I read the Leica M8 Manual but am still confused.
When moving the lever to select frame lines (no lens attached) witch position of the lever represents what frame lines???
1 (no pressure applied)
2 (middle position)
3 (pushed to the far end)
I know it might seem a silly question but I have been struggling with it. Every time I think to have figured out it doest.

Just to make sure, these are effective focal length right? (ie accounting for the cropped FOV)

They're the actual frame lines at those actual focal lengths showing what will actually appear on the sensor (subject to framing accuracy).
What else could they be?
