Just got back from 10 days of shooting with the M8 in Colombia. I brought my 5D as a backup, and it never came out of the bag. Spent part of the trip traveling on horseback, where it was bounced around quite a bit, and after some 4000 frames, no problems to report other than a few over exposed shots in auto mode and one lockup that was fixed by removing the battery and reinserting. My M5s need red dots!
Where were you in Colombia, James? I've been there twice, once to Cartagena and later to Bogota. Excellent place to shoot a Leica!

I spent 10 days traveling from Medellin to Cali, Armenia and the area north of Bogota which is centered around Villa de Leyvas. Most of the traveling was by motorcycle, one day by horseback. It is a beautiful country, overall a wonderful experience.
My wide lens was a CV 28 3.5, which I have had great luck with. It's tiny and easy to travel with, although I wouldn't mind if it were a tad faster.
Thanks for the compliments, btw, glad you enjoyed the pics.
