i'm curious to know how this poll turns out. maybe it will cast a new light on all of these discussions about how expensive the m8 is, and leica products in general.
note: the options are based on the tax brackets in the us.

hehe it's funny to see how violently people react on this mater, although it is a poll, i.e. nobody can associate the person to the number...
ok i could vote but i have no m8. but i tell you: it's waaay over my monthly income, before or after taxes...

There really should be an option for just plain $0. Otherwise you are mixing the super-rich and paupers with questionable ownership rights and interesting 'jobs'.

Why are people getting so worked up about this? If you think it is too personal a question, don't answer.
I actually find the results to the poll so far quite interesting.

I thought it was only Australians who ever felt shame over high earnings!

Not sure what the problem is, since no one can trace the answer to the person.
I am curious however on how 2 people with less than $32000 income could afford an M8.
I am asking because my income is well above that, but I really can't afford an M8, so any suggestion on how to make it affordable for me is very welcome.

I'm not in the US, thus ineligible to poll.. I also am curiously indifferent to the M8...

Photographers who own $5000+ cameras from other companies never get teased or their judgment questioned but poor M8 owners always have to defend their purchase decision.
No one makes fun of D3 owners.

I've just re-read this thread and cannot see any teasing or questioning judgment at all of Leica M8 users.
Anyway, what's a 'poor M8 owner'? One of the people who answered that they have only modest earnings?

Here in Norway - and several other European countries, the salary, fortune and tax paid for every citizen and registered company is available on the Net. When will that kind of info be available in USA?

Haha, my guess is never. What's the point of having such information available to all?

what's the point of keeping it secret? Who the hell cares, anyway?
If u do the same job like me and u earn twice as much, well, good for you (and i'm a loser). What else does it mean?
