Hello I just got a M8 and I am liking it very much. It works as it should but as I was sitting with it exploring menus and stuff. I Decided to give it a shake and I hear a very light rattling from inside. I can't tell where its coming from its not the lens because I took it off and tried again. I think maybe there is a positioning sensor inside the camera so it knows if the camera is vertical or horizontal. Does anyone else's M8 make this noise when shaken around? This would put any worries of mine to rest. Thanks
Samuel

I can't believe I just did this but I got my M8 out of the cupboard and shook it ... and yes it rattles!

Obviously it's not an issue but strange that I've never noticed it before ... I have to stop reading forums! :p

ps ... by the way welcome to the forum and thanks for scaring the bejesus out of all M8 owners! :D

Mine rattles too. I feel sorry for those with non-rattling M8s, they paid all that money and got less than us privileged few.

It's probably a device to remind you you're carrying it in your hip pocket. There are some boring people who think its probably the orientation device that tells the camera which way up it is and aligns the consequent image accordingly.

I think it has Wii technology built in - if you wave it vigorously in front of your TV you'll win the downhill slalom or air guitar, or whatever other game is on your Wii at the time. Whatever you do, don't let go ... or invest in a Luigi wrist strap!
