Macro .. Any Tips?

I want to do some macro for the first time using a Contax RTSIII and Zeiss 100mm Makro. I really want to do so using Velvia 50, which seems like an impossible combination, so I picked up a Sunpak Ring Flash 16R Pro. I would love to get some of your tips, especially using the a Ring Flash without TTL. Also, would love to see some of your images.

dunno about flash, but as you rack the lens out to close focus, you lose light. something to keep in mind if you're using an external meter...

no images from me... the thing I learned doing macros is that I take really boring macros.
