There's been much recent discussion on RFF about the Maizenburg repair manuals. Was Maizenburg one of the German engineers brought from Jena in 1945? If the 1964 book is so much more detailed than the 1961 English translation then I will have it professionally translated and proofed to be published on-line. For this I would appreciate some contributions, such as any English material for reference and, if you feel so inclined, financial help. Translation work here costs $3 a page and at 440 pages it's a considerable chunk out of my teachers salary. My students continue to translate most of the non-technical material, but as you can imagine, even an instruction manual is difficult for someone without a technical background.

Maizenberg, not Maizenburg. Fortunately for him he wasn't from Germany, otherwise he'd most likely vanish in Holocaust.
