Mamiya 6 - 75mm frameline not engaging?

I've recently purchased a second Mamiya 6 body and am having a problem with it - when I put a 75mm lens on it, it doesn't engage the 75mm framelines - the 50mm framelines remain showing. Any ideas? Anyone else come across this issue?

Never had that problem on my Mamiya 6. But maybe try cleaning the contacts on the lens/body. If that does not help you will probably need to send it (both body and lens) for a service.

Thanks for the reply Matus but the contacts do not control the framelines.

There is a small cam toward the top of the lens mount on the body which I can move via my fingernail that will bring up the frameline. On my existing Mamiya 6 the 75mm engages properly - while on the new body it won't change from the 50mm frameline (though I can manually move it with my finger). As far as I can tell looking at both cameras I can't see a difference. Just checking to see its not something completely simple and stupid I've overlooked.

Looks like it will be a CLA - bummer as I didn't expect any problems when I bought it :/

Did you extend the lens? I just got my first Mamiya 6 and I've been really curious about every bit, I noticed that if the 75 is mounted and collapsed you will see the 50 framelines through the viewfinder. But when you extend it, it switches to the 75 framelines.

Wolf - thanks for the reply - yeap the lens is extended.

What it looks like is the spring that controls the frameline cam has developed a little play. Such that when the lens is connected, it pushes the cam but does not engage the spring enough to get it to engage the 75mm framelines. Should be a simple fix - thanks guys!

Have you tried collapsing and then extending the lens? I've learned that if you take a lens off (say the 50mm) and then mount a different lens (say the 75mm) the framelines of the lens you took off will remain until you collapse and re-extend the newly mounted lens.

Yeap I've tried that - I took it to my repair guy and theres about 3mm of play in the linkage which is enough that the 75mm frameline won't engage.

I can take off the 50 and mount the 75 on my working body without having to collapse etc. It's a very simple mechanism where a tab on the lens pushes a cam - there is no need for collapsing/extending etc.

For the amount of work involved to take the camera apart and repair the play in the linkage, it's not worth it so I'll be using this one solely as a 50mm body.
