Hi, I just recently picked up a mamiya 6 online. My question is, the film film advance feels sticky when I actually run film thru. I am not sure if this is normal or not. The winder itself feels fine when I don't run film thru, but apparently the 'cam' where you load a new roll of film is fairly sticky. So when I put in a new roll, and advance the film, it sometimes snags up, and gets a little worse towards the end of the roll. I've run several rolls of film, and they are fine, but when I am actually advancing the film, the action is somewhat awkward and 'sticky'. Has anyone else had this problem? THanks, Nathan

did you research the Mamiya 6 winder before the purchase?

The winder seems to be ok, I feel resistance in the 'cam' where you insert a new roll of film. When I move the cam, it spins ok for a half turn, sticks a little, then spins ok for a half turn. I would think the cam should just spin freely full time. Any ideas?david b said:did you research the Mamiya 6 winder before the purchase?

What kind of film did you put in it? I had some XP2 in my new (used) 6 and the winding was a bit rough and "squeaky". But the film advance is nice and smooth with the Fuji 160s. If you have to have the camera looked at I hear that Precision Camera Works is a good place to send it. I may be sending mine to them to have a VERY small horizontal rnagefinder adjustment done and also have the check the LED readouts on the VF. I bought it from KEH in "Bargain" condtion. The camera seems to take good pictures so despite the lttle problems I may just live with it.
