Mamiya 6 lenses

I have the 75mm but unfortunately it suffers from doublet separation in the rear element as Precision Camera Works has deemed it. I just received a 50mm I suspect also has this problem. Should I simply keep on looking for a good copy or is this just the outcome of Mamiya 6 lenses down the road? Are Mamiya 7 lenses fairing any better? I might have to try that route but I much prefer the 6.
 
Never seen that issue in a Mamia 6 lens personally. How you got two of them is amazing odds.

Would you happen to have the 50mm available to look at? The copy I received also has a browning around the edges of the glass on the front and rear. The 75mm doesn't have that at all.

Sorry, I sold all my Mamiya gear a few months ago.

i tend to see many mamiya lenses with separation issues...
i
i regulary put my universal press lenses in the sun... i do not know if cures or solves the issue but the separation stops...

That sounds like UV and heat slowing a fungal bloom rather than separation. If it's a rainbow pattern it could be stray lubricant working its way between non-cemented elements.

no, it´s not lubricant... most separations are like that, my attempt in exposing the lenses to uv is beacuse most recent cements are uv cured... and that way stabilizing the cement...

i already fully separated lenses with strong solvents and cemented again with norland optical cement... but that´s really hard work and a lot of time waiting... i did that with my 180 heliar and some already sold mamiya lenses...
 
I was just thinking it could also have been stopped by the UV curing cement. Where do you live? Where does the OP live? I'm wondering if the environment may have something to do with separation. I owned my Mamiya 6 kit (2 bodies, all three lenses) for six years and never had an issue. I also have seen a few in that time and have never seen separation. During my time owning them I took them on several cross country trips on the seat of my car, in the heat. Never any problems. I'm not discounting the separation mentioned in this thread, its just that it hasn't been reported before this by many M6 users.

I had a similar issue with a 65 on a M7.

I got the lens cheap due to “light haze” that turned out to be, by my eye, edge separation of one of the internal groups. Still performed fine and I never noticed any ill effects.

Regretfully sold the kit years ago. My most missed camera that I can no longer afford.
 
I received both lenses in that state already but I happen to live in a desert. I'm on the search again hopefully 3rd time is the charm to find a decent lens for this system. I am seeing this problem also resides with Mamiya 7 lenses as well which is a shame I was looking into them to see if they would fare any better with no issues being slightly newer. The Mamiya 6 is by far my favorite camera I have used so I'm remaining hopeful but its proving frustrating thus far.
