Hi,

I just picked up a used Mamiya 6 with the 75mm lens. but no hood. Any suggestions for a replacement? find a screw in rubberhood or?

Best regards
Morten

I never much cared for rubber hoods. They always get deformed in my gear bag, making their usefulness somewhat random.

Check keh.com for an original hood.

If you use a rubber hood you will not see past it through the viewfinder. I tried it, and had to take it back.

The original hood for the Mamiya 6 75mm lens is marked "G 3.5/75 L"

The original hood for the Mamiya 7 80mm lens is marked "N 4/80 L"

They appear to be absolutely exactly the same. If you're looking for a second hand one either will do.

Also, they attach by bayonet and store on the lens in reverse position: quite compact and handy.

This is true. Mamiya sent me the 80mm hood for the "7" when I ordered a replacement for the 75mm hood for the "6".

Thanks for the information... need to find an orginal hood then.
The Norwegain (where I live) importer is out of stock. And KEH dont reply to my emails...

At KEH:

Mamiya 6 & 7 75 F3.5 SHADE
EX $41.00
BGN $31.00

Thanks but that was the easy part to find.. The hard part seems to be for KEH to give me shipping qoute.. And having paid UPS $98.0 for shipping a filmholder costing $50 filmholder in the past has been the lesson needed to ask for shipping cost BEFORE committing to buy... :(

I can't help you find one but would like to point out that even $31 seems an outrageous price for the hood. Its made of plastic - or at least mine is....Why not keep an eye out on the 'bay for such a low risk purchase? Worth getting though - I find in combnination with a neoprene hood (see pic) its a great way of avoiding 'blackouts'...
